It’s getting wintery – the cold drizzle finally giving way to snow. Far and away I prefer snow to rain – especially when I don’t have to shovel it. I’ve brought my “No Animals Were Harmed in the Making of This Coat” Coat out of retirement and with the boots… I feel it’s bordering dangerously on being a “pimp coat” but it’s oh so very warm.
Christmas is clearly over and it’s time to move on to the New Year. I don’t have any particular resolutions or any real thoughts on the year in review. 2012 just kind of… was. I think that’s pretty good. All we had to do this year was to just be, and we did it. Moving to Boston was certainly a highlight and the passing of my grandfather was a definite lowpoint, but it wasn’t chockfull of monumental events in the way that 2011 had been. I’m hoping 2013 will be a good year for us, though I’m also quite happy to say that we have no big plans in the works. I have a few small goals – use my DSLR more, learn Portuguese, get back to doing some artwork – but nothing terribly exciting.
Speaking of artwork – lest ye be fooled into thinking that Paulo colors with his crayons. No. He organizes them. I do believe I’ve mentioned this before, that what he enjoys most is putting them in the box, dumping them out, and putting them back again ad infinitum – it’s really reached the point of ridiculousness. He clocked a total of six hours doing this today. The longest continuous stretch being two and a half solid hours of crayon organizing. We had to get a new box of crayons because the old box was falling apart. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. Should Crayola start hiring crayon organizers, I’ve got just the Whuffle for them.
